Dr. Nghi Tran, DDS, FAGD, FICOI, is committed to your oral health, but he also understands the importance of a beautiful smile. For this reason, he offers a full selection of cosmetic dentistry treatments. At your initial consultation, Dr. Tran will explain our various treatment options, including veneers, bonding, and whitening, among others. Then he will help you choose the right procedure for your needs. If desired, he can also combine multiple treatments. At Hue Dental, PLLC, we partner with an outstanding lab, and we use the latest dental materials. Therefore, following your cosmetic treatment, you will enjoy stunning, natural results.
Porcelain veneers are thin shells that will adhere to the front of your teeth, covering up a range of cosmetic imperfections. These concerns include:
If you opt for veneers, Dr. Tran will first trim and reshape your teeth. After he removes a thin layer of enamel, there will be more room for the porcelain, and it will lie flat against your teeth. Then he will take impressions, and our dental lab will use these measurements to create your veneers. The technicians will make sure that the porcelain matches the shape of your teeth, and they will choose a color of porcelain that will blend seamlessly with your smile. After treatment, you will enjoy a smile that looks several years younger.
Dental bonding provides similar results to porcelain veneers, and it can correct many of the same problems. The composite bonding material will not last as long as porcelain. Nevertheless, the treatment can be an excellent option if you are watching your budget or if you do not qualify for veneers due to enamel erosion.
To perform bonding, your dentist will coat your teeth in composite resin, chosen to correspond with smile. Sculpting the material, he will conceal flaws and reshape your teeth, giving them a smooth, natural finish. When he is finished, he will use a curing light to harden the material. Finally, he will polish your teeth so that the composite has a natural sheen.
Teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic treatment because it is conservative and affordable. At the same time, it can provide dramatic results that can transform your smile and overall appearance. At Hue Dental, we proudly offer at-home whitening, which is convenient and reasonably priced. We will take impressions of your teeth, which our lab will use to create custom whitening trays. After filling the trays with peroxide-based gel, you will wear them about 30 minutes a day, usually for around two weeks. The peroxide in the gel will set off an oxidation reaction in your enamel. Oxygen molecules will move through your teeth and break apart dental stains. Whitening can lighten your smile by several shades. Though results are not permanent, with regular touch-up treatments, your brighter grin will last for years.
If you feel that your teeth are too large, or if they have an unusual shape, you may benefit from tooth contouring. This procedure involves shaving off tiny amounts of dental enamel to give you a more even and proportionate smile. Tooth contouring is a conservative treatment that, often, does not even require local anesthesia.
Alternatively, you may be a candidate for gum contouring. Excess gum tissue, or a “gummy smile,” can make your teeth look shorter than they actually are. Similar to tooth contouring, this procedure involves trimming off a layer of gum tissue to reveal more of your teeth. For more precise treatment, we will use a periodontal laser, which will not affect your surrounding tissue. After gum touring, you could enjoy a bigger and far more youthful smile.
